DESCRIPTION:
Located within the newly-built Shika Saru building, Kitsune is a stylish suki-yaki restaurant part of the the "sio" group. The interior is modern and sleek, There are a few private rooms available to add to the VIP experience.

The suki-yaki will be prepared to perfection right in front of you. With a mix of tradition and innovation, you can enjoy sukiyaki in various forms, such as seasonal courses and hearty bento boxes filled with premium meat - and if you are not too keen on raw egg, alternative serving styles are available. DESCRIPTION:
Tucked away in a charming backstreet off one of the city's busiest roads sits a Shabu-shabu Matsuya, a stylish little restaurant that specializes in fresh meat and vegetables at very low prices. The interior is minimalistic with an understated charm with a single high counter with about 7 seats. The staff work in close proximity behind the counter and their friendly demeanor add to the experience.
MENU DETAILS:
​Courses include both pork and beef or a mixture of the two. Course come with a healthy 300g of fresh seasonal vegetables and some home-made sesame dipping sauce that is out-of -this-world!
ACCESS:
Located off Yasuragi-no-Michi, very close to Henn na Hotel Nara. You will not be able to see the restaurant from the street, so keep an eye out for the small alley and electric sign board.

SHABU-SHABU MATSUYAMA

Motsu Nabe

DESCRIPTION:
A large and stylish restaurant located on Nara's busiest city-center street. Motsu nabe originated in Fukuoka but it's now popular throughout the country. It features beef or pork offal - especially small intestines. It's rich in vitamins, amino acids and collagen. Motsu Sui's nabe is made with 100% small intestines sourced from Yamagata Prefecture with a beef-bone broth simmered for over 8 hours, resulting in a milky, umami-rich base.

MENU DETAILS:
While motsu nabe may not be to everyone's taste, the hotpot is full of delicious vegetables and incredibly filling. The rest of the menu is broad with a wide selection of izakaya favorites. Motsu Sui is also well-known for their amazing handmade gyoza.

DESCRIPTION:
What will strike you immediately about Ochakeya are the really cool sake barrel-like seating options. They are ideal for a group of 4 for an intimate setting, but they also have a tatami mat room that can accommodate 40 guests.

MENU DETAILS:
There are a couple of All-You-Can-Drink options that offer great value for money. They specialize in Kyoto-style oden, gently simmered in bonito and kelp stock, but their wide menu includes kushikatsu, teppanyaki, Korean-style chijimi, salt-grilled beef tongue with scallions, salads, rice dishes, daily specials, sashimi as well as a variety of chicken, pork, and fish selections.
